Village Eulogia Prayer Update - November 2018

Once a month we pause, reflect on and praise our Lord for the many blessings he has given to us. Sometimes these blessings have been unmerited as they are expressions of God’s love and grace towards us. And sometimes the Lord has been merciful and has spared us from what we deserve. But still…

Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom. One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts. They speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty—and I will meditate on your wonderful works. They tell of the power of your awesome works—and I will proclaim your great deeds. They celebrate your abundant goodness and joyfully sing of your righteousness.              Psalm 145:3-7

We continue to thank our Father for enabling the ministry of the Village to continue by bringing faithful volunteers and equipping them to serve families. And we are thankful for returning families and bringing new families to the Village. For both we pray the Lord will guide and direct that and us in all we do, to love those he has brought into our midst.

Jesus asked Bartimaeus who was blind from birth, “What do you want me to do for you?” Take note that we serve a God who wants to know our cares and burdens, who meets our every need because he knows what they are before we ask. The man received his sight and followed Jesus. Thank you for providing the way and giving new life as VE seeks to strengthen ties with families through service.

Praise as the VE cottage renovation progresses on track for next season so we will be able to provide a haven of rest for families. We pray for volunteers who would be available to support the families during their personal retreats, and funding that would allow this to happen.

For the recent retreat of the Eulogia team we give thanks to the Lord. The Lord has convicted us once again that we are called to be a community, a Village. He has directed us to see community building as the most important strategy going forward. We pray for wisdom, obedience and faithfulness as we follow the Lord's lead in this new direction. We pray that the Village families and volunteers will join us on this journey so that we can truly see and experience the Village being formed beyond what we could ask for or imagine.

For the service side to go forward we pray that the Lord will bring volunteers to serve on the Board and the executive team so that we will have a strong infrastructure to support the services in 2019 and the years to come.

For the funding that we have received this year we give thanks to the Lord. We pray and trust that the Lord will continue to be our Provider for 2019. We pray specifically for the funding for next year's camp.

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. It is our hope you will remember these things we have brought before the Lord because…

The Lord is trustworthy in all he promises and faithful in all he does. The Lord upholds all who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down. The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food at the proper time. You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing. Psalm 145:13-16

On behalf of the Village Staff and Volunteers,

The Lord bless you and keep you.
